Posted by Jessica Curran on Sep 18, 2019 12:32:00 PM

The Women’s Center of Houston Medical Imaging is proud to announce that they have successfully received accreditation in all breast imaging modalities from the American College of Radiology (ACR). The initial accreditation was granted at the opening of the center, and they have now reached the highest level of accreditation achievable. HMI is the only nonhospital-based facility in Houston to receive this accreditation.

According to Pete Power, clinical director of the women’s center, “the ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence designation signifies, that our center provides essential breast imaging services to our patients at the highest standards of radiology.”

The Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) designation is awarded to breast imaging centers that achieve excellence by seeking and earning accreditation in all of the ACR’s voluntary breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program.ACR
