3T Pearland's LMS Filters Out the Competition
As Houston Medical Imaging expands our 3T capable facilities, we are also adding new technology to put us at the forefront of research and diagnostic imaging.
The Ultra High Field 3T GE Pioneer magnet at HMI Pearland features the Perspectum Liver Multiscan which evaluates the overall health of the liver. Up until now, traditional MRI's of the abdomen have been limited to evaluating pathologic diseases of the liver, but it does not evaluate the liver's actual health. The Liver Multiscan has been proven to be an excellent source for detecting and quantifying liver disease. It provides data that reveals how much fat and iron content is present in the liver; these are good indicators for underlying liver diseases such as fibrosis hemochromatosis, and liver inflammation which leads to fibrosis and liver cirrhosis, one of the leading causes of death in the US.
